Description: Fish Barriers are man made structures that create an impediment to upstream adult salmonid migration. Fish Barriers are identified in the field and are evaluated for migration impediment by City of Redmond scientists. Coordinates are collected using hand held GPS collection devices in fields, with all coordinates collected on the stream at the downstream end of the barrier. All attributes are collected and populated according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife's “Fish Passage Inventory, Assessment, and Prioritization Manual” (https://wdfw.wa.gov/publications/02061).

Description: Time of travel (TOT) polygons show the maximum time required for groundwater at a point in the polygon area to travel through the water bearing aquifer soils to a municipal supply well. Redmond TOT areas were derived from the 2018 MODFLOW groundwater model with the assumption of all municipal supply wells pumping at their full water rights. These TOT areas do not reflect any active temporary construction dewatering (TCD), which artificially lowers water levels and changes groundwater flow directions. TCD can change the TOT area for supply wells and the Critical Aquifer Recharge Area (CARA) includes TCD buffers which account for potential TCD scenarios. Because of this, the TOT areas should be used in conjunction with the CARAs. The groundwater model is reviewed for needed updates every five years.

Description: This layer provides King County parcel areas that are known to contain Septic Systems, whether active, removed or in the process of being removed according to Redmond EnerGov demolition permits. The locations of the septic systems were derived from Water/Wastewater Engineering staff who have maintained a list of known septic systems for the past 20 years. This information was also checked against Utility Billing (Springbrook) water accounts with no associated sewer accounts to determine septic system parcels. The final layer was reviewed manually by a GIS analyst to ensure a building was present on each parcel. These data are being maintained on a quarterly basis by Science and Data Analytics staff. Note: This layer may include parcels that are not in the City of Redmond limits but are in the City service area, in these cases accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
